WILLSBORO/NAPLES, Fla. — Elizabeth Virginia (Richard) Wilkins, 88, of Bay Circle, Willsboro, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, in Naples, Fla., following a brief illness.

She was born in Essex, N.Y., Sept. 28, 1922, the daughter of A. Harry and Ellen Theresa (Hayes) Richard.

She was a communicant of Willsboro and Essex Catholic parishes where she was the organist for many, many years. She was a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

For many years, she spent winters with her son, Joe, in Florida and summers on Lake Champlain with her family, which was very special to her. She also enjoyed playing cards with her many friends in Willsboro and Naples. She was involved in theatrical productions for many years and always enjoyed directing and writing a show.

She was the wife of the late Francis Wilkins. Survivors include their five sons, Gale "Spike" and his wife, Leslie of Willsboro, Robert and his wife, Jill of Corinth, Michael and his wife, MaryBeth of Charlotte, N.C., Anthony "Joe" of Naples, Fla., and Patrick "Moe" and his wife, Theresa of Queensbury; five grandchildren, Katherine Graham, Felicia Wilkins, Sara Wilkins, Victoria Wilkins and Matthew Wilkins; four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Sheila, Kaitlyn and Ethan; a sister, Florence Hathway; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Eric Wilkins; her parents; and brother, Alex Richard.
