"North Jackson- Funeral services will be 11 am Friday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Naomi Balog formerly from North Jackson who died Monday evening. Naomi was born January 29, 1925 in Struthers, the daughter of Karl and Laura (Wire) Kurtz. Naomi was a member of the First Federated Church and the Knights of Pythians Sisters both in North Jackson and an Alumni member of the 3C's. She was employed as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell and was a 1943 graduate of Struthers High School. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother by her family. She is survived by her children; Karl J. and Andrew L. (Vickie) both of Austintown, sister, Esther (Harry) Hollingbery of Struthers, brothers, Paul (Evelyn) Kurtz of Long Island, N.Y., David Booty of West Middlesex, PA., grandchildren; James, Karly, Alicia, Nicole and Andrew Victor. She is also survived by step-brothers; Harry (Grace) Booty, Donald (Carol) Booty both of Youngstown, Robert (Delores) Booty in California, Charles (Alice) Booty and Lee (Jean) Booty both of Vienna. Naomi was preceded in death by her husband Andrew B. Balog whom she married September 14, 1946 died August 14, 2005, sister Jean Kurtz, brother Donald Kurtz, step-sister Anna Grace Booty-McLaughlin and step-brother William Booty. The Balog family would like to thank Austin woods for the excellent care given to mom for the three years she lived there. Family and friends may call from 5-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests that Memorial contributions take the form of donations to the Residents Activity Fund at Austinwoods."
