BOUNTIFUL--Farrell Jay Mohlman, 83, of Bountiful, Utah passed away Jan. 3, 1999 at So. Davis Community Hospital.

Farrell was born January 28, 1915 in Midway, Utah along with a twin brother Frank to Ephraim and Laura Bercumshaw Mohlman. His family moved to Roosevelt, Utah when he was three-years-old. He graduated from high school there, and later attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah where he participated in basketball and football.In 1942 he graduated from Utah State with a degree in Agronomy and Soil Chemistry. Immediately after graduating from Utah State he went into the service. He spent four years with the coast artillery where as a captain he assisted in guarding the Panama Canal. On a recuperation leave from Panama, he married Nedra Todd on September 11, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple. After his return to civilian life, he worked in Boise, Idaho for the Bureau of Reclamation until he moved his family to Altamont, Utah where he went into he grocery business with his brother, Glen. While in Altamont he also started teaching at the high school there. Eventually he sold his interest in the business and moved to Bountiful, Utah where he went into education - first teaching at Bountiful Jr. High, later Vice Principal at South Davis Jr. High. He also served as principal of Bountiful Elementary, Adelaide Elementary and retired in 1981 from Orchard Elementary after 35 years in education where he touched many lives. He was always active in the LDS church where he served in many ward and stake organizations. He served as bishop of the Bountiful 18th Ward, was an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple, a guide on Temple Square and with his wife, served a mission in the Dallas Texas Temple.

Farrell is survived by his wife, Nedra of 54 years; one daughter, Nancy Sherwood (Jack) of Farmington; three sons: Frank Todd (Lucille), Tooele; Kent (Sue), Murray; Jay (Debbie), Bountiful; 17 grandchildren; three great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Frank, brothers Lloyd, Glen, Art, Jack, Grant and one sister, Vera Hanson.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, January 7, 1998 at the Bountiful 31st Ward Chapel, 585 East Center Street. Friends may call Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and again Thursday morning 10:45 - 11:45 at the church. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
