William “Bill” Boan
BOAN, William “Bill” - Age 84 of Yoncalla, Oregon passed away March 17, 1998. He was born January 16, 1914 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Charles and Frances Boan. On October 21, 1934 in Joplin, Missouri he married Lois Wisdon. For 25 years he worked as a maintenance supervisor for Douglas County School District #32. Bill enjoyed playing baseball, hunting, tinkering in hes shop and trading. He is survived by his wife, Lois; three sons, Gerald Boan of Madras, Oregon, Charles Boan of Yoncalla, Oregon and Dennis Boan of Tacoma, Washington; three daughters; Virginia Underwood of Yoncalla, Melba Joslyn of Helix, Oregon and Sharon Calhoun of Tacoma, Washington; 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, March 22, 1998 from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Community Center in Yoncalla. SMITH-LUND-MILLS FUNERAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
