Services for George William Clark, 77, of Stockton wil be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov 13, in Stockton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alan Pruitt officiating & Clyde Bough assiting. Burial will be in Stockton Cemetery. George William Clark passed away at 10:40 a.m. Sunday, Nov 10, in Cedar County Memorial Hospital in El Dorado Springs after a long illness. He was born Sept 27, 1908. George was a native of Cedar County & a lifelong resident of Stockton. He was saved in a revival when he was a young man. George tried to live a Christian life & confirmed his belief in his salvation to several in his last days. He was a farmer until the time of his illness. He enjoyed his life of farming & was happiest when he was working on his farm. George took pleasure in being a good provided for his family. He enjoyed doing for others & giving of himself to those in need. George was a good neighbor & a friend to many people. George married Ella Myrle Martin on Sept 29, 1932. To this union,eight children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella; granddaughter, Sharon Kay Rogers; great granddaughter, Miranda Nimmo; brother, Charlie; & brothers-in-law, Ollie Hickman, Harold Austin, & Fred Watkins. On Dec 2, 1970, he married Flora Swaggerty. He is survived by his wife, Flora; three sons & five daughters, Nancy Cully of Stockton; Minnie Langford of Dadeville, Lydia Rogers of Harrisonville, Martin Clark of Stockton, Oscar Clark of Stockton, Donna Burns of El Dorado Springs, Robert Clark of the State of Louisiana, Judy Oberly of Collins; one step daughter, Anna Stockton of Stockton; two daughters-in law, Patsy Clark & Rosemary Clark; five sons-in-law, Wendell Cully, Bill Langford, Jim Rogers, Loyd Burns & Jerry Oberly; one step son-in-law, Loyd Ray Stockton; 36 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; one brother, John clark of Kansas city, Kan; three sisters, Addie Austin of Stockton, Vina Bryam of Humansville, & Lida Hickman of Humansville; two sisters-in-law, Opal Clark of Arcola, Ruth Clark of Kansas City, Kan.; & one brother-in-law, Clyde Bryam, & a host of Cousins, nieces, & nephews, & other relatives.
