Tombstone replaced sometime after his wife's death in 1881. Dates incorrect; his wife's obituary stated that he died in 1848. He could not have died in 1818 as five of his children were born well after that year. Year of death uncertain, but probably incorrect - his original tombstone may have read that he died in 1848, aged 57 years, and the misreading of 1848 for 1818 would have likewise caused his birth year to be recorded as 1761 when it should have been 1791.
