Ira served in the Navy during World War II and in the Korean War.
Ira worked as a golf course superintendent in Las Vegas for 25 years. In 1979, he moved to Washington, UT. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in multiple church callings in Henderson, NV, Las Vegas, NV, and Washington, UT.
For 8 1/2 years, Ira was employed as the head gardener of the St. George Temple. He retired in 1992. In 1995, he and Eula moved to Hurricane, UT.
Ira enjoyed gardening, woodworking, golfing, and being with his family. He was a great example. He was placed on dialysis for 9 years and he never complained. Ira is loved and will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Eula, of Hurricane, UT; sons, Les (Nancy) Cluff, of Orem, UT, Charlie (Adelle) Cluff, of Henderson, NV; daughter, Arlene (Jay) Talbot, of Logandale, NV; brother, Gerald (Florence) Cluff, of Las Vegas, NV; sisters Deveen (Brent) Pulsipher, of Hurricane, UT, and Lerleen Lund of Bloomington Hills, UT; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Vance; three brothers; two sisters; and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hurricane 11th Ward Chapel, 452 N. 2600 W., Hurricane, UT. Viewings will be held Friday, September 10, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 140 N. Main St., Hurricane, and again on Saturday from 9:3010:30 a.m., prior to services at the Chapel. Interment will be in the Panaca City Cemetery in Panaca, NV, at 3:30 p.m., Utah time.
