John had four children from his first marriage and Eva migrated with her parents and half-siblings to Nebraska in the early 1880s. They settled first in Saline County and by 1888, had migrated further west to Rushville, Nebraska.
She married William Augustus Pelham, a widower with two living children, on May 25, 1896 in Deadwood, South Dakota. She and William had two sons:
