P.O. Dennis R. Vineyard, DSN 0948, was commissioned as a Police Officer on 02/14/1977.

Upon graduating from the academy, he was assigned to Prisoner Processing Division, the 3rd, 8th, 4th, Criminal Investigation Division, Special Assignments of District 4, Lambert Field Drug Task Force (DEA), Homicide Division, Juvenile Division, District 6, and finally retired out of the 8th District on 06-18-1997. He served a total of 20.34 years on the department.

He received 2 awards during his career. They are a Chief's Letter of Commendation on 02-18-1983, and a Meritorious Service Medal on 03-03-1982.

Beloved husband of Barbara Vineyard (nee Weick); dear father of Matthew, Andrew and Joseph Vineyard; dear son of the late Robert and Marcella Vineyard; dear brother of Kim Capriglione; dear nephew, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

Mr. Vineyard was a retired St. Louis Metropolitan Police Officer. Past President and lifetime member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was a 1972 graduate of Augustinian Academy.

Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois, Wednesday, April 14, 9:30 a.m. to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for 10:00 a.m. Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.

Memorials to the Backstoppers or St. Elizabeth Adult Day Care Center, or Augustinian Alumni Association appreciated. Visitation Tuesday, 3-9 p.m.
