Fred P. Benitz, St. Joseph, died Sunday, October 22, 1995, at a St. Joseph health care center following a lengthy illness. He was 92.
Mr. Benitz was bom March 24, 1903, in Wathena, the son of Fred and Amelia Wende Benitz. He resided in Wathena until moving to St. Joseph in 1944.
He had been employed with Tri-State Insulation Company for many years, retiring in 1971. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, where he was an elder and trustee of the church.
He married Clara Wehking on April 6, 1932, at Nortonville, Kansas. She died in 1987. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Benitz; and five sisters, Marie Bachelor, Clara Inselman, Hannah Meyer, Laura Schultz and Edna Hartman.
