UXBRIDGE -- Alpheus Seagrave, 58, of 21 Upton St., a retired truck driver, died Friday, Jan. 5, at home after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 38 years, June M. (Hinckley) Seagrave; four daughters, Beth A. Chludenski of Millbury, Dana M. Coyne of Uxbridge, Bonny L. Sullivan of Hopedale and Dale L. Cialdea of Ashland; two brothers, Walter A. Jr. and Mason Seagrave Sr., both of Uxbridge; seven sisters, Mary O'Connell, Olive Ross, Eleanor Lyness and Alberta Barber, all of Uxbridge, Edith Boucher of Douglas, Ruth Bergeron and Ethel Fenner, both of Worcester; four grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Three sisters, Dorothy M. Cimochowski, Barbara Campanialle and Susan Carmody, predeceased him. He was born in Uxbridge, son of Walter A. and Dorothy E. (Blackburn) Seagrave, and lived several years in Northbridge and most of his life in Uxbridge. He attended Uxbridge public schools.
Mr. Seagrave was a truck driver 35 years at New Method Plating, Worcester, retiring because of illness in 1997. He enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, and deep sea fishing. He was a tractor enthusiast.
The funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 8, from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Road, with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 71 Mendon St. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to VNA Care Hospice Inc., 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608; or to Uxbridge Women's Club Thermal Imaging Camera Fund, c/o Unibank for Savings, 25 North Main St., Uxbridge, MA 01569.
