Mattoon - Carl James Hall Sr., 79, of 905 N. 30th St., Mattoon, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 4, 1990) at his home.
The funeral is at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home with the Rev. E. E. Elliott officiating. Burial is in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with the graveside military rites by VFW Post #4325. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hall was born Nov. 18, 1910, in Charleston, the son of Morris and Martha Dow Hall Sibrel. He married Ruth M. Welch in 1939; she died in 1989.
Surviving are two sons, Carl (Jim) Hall Jr. and David Hall, both of Mattoon; two daughters Mrs. Jack (Mickey) MacLeod of Boca Raton, Fla., and Sarah (Sally) Winfield of Boynton Beach, Fla; one sister, Mrs. Sarah Hull of Lansing, Mich; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He also was preceded in death by three sisters.
Mr. Hall was a retired farmer, a World War II Navy veteran, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mattoon and VFW Post #4325.
