William R. married Zilphia B. Hart 28 May 1854 in Laurens Co., GA. They had Henrietta, Thomas Y., Mary, William J., Rebecca, and Darius. Zilphia died 24 April 1871 in Laurens but have not located her gravesite.

He married Mary C. Daniel 7 January 1875 in Laurens Co. and they had Naommah, Lenora, Ida, Clara, Ofrey C. and she died soon after his birth 19 Feb. 1896.

He then married Permelia Ellis 19 September 1897 and had William D., Myrtle, Willie Marie, and Leroy C.

He also had 7 children apparently with Zilphia's sister, as listed in his family bible and 1 by a Yopp lady also in Bible, and another child named Mimbs discovered by DNA. This Bible has since burned in a house fire but transcribed copies are found.

William Riley Keen is listed on the Confederate Graves Registry as #111386. The Sons of Confederate Veterans quote Keen's Confederate Service Record from Fold3. /they say he enlisted in July 1863 as a private with Company H of the 22 GA State Guards unit.
