MRS. MARY S. OBER DIES FROM INJURY

Mrs. Mary Snyder Ober, widow of the late William S. Ober and an aged resident of Roaring Spring, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Homer Kegaries, 327 East Main street, Roaring Spring, at 1.35 a.m. Thursday. Mrs. Ober was an invalid for the past five years and her death was caused by diseases incident to advanced years, the end being hastened by injuries sustained two months ago when she fell in her bed room and along with other injuries sustained a bad fracture of the hip.

The aged woman fell while going from the bed to the dresser and her condition since then was very critical. Since the death of her husband fifteen years ago Mrs. Ober has resided with her daughter in Roaring Spring.

Mrs. Ober was born Jan. 18, 1842, near New Enterprise and has resided in the cove sector and Roaring Spring during her entire life. She was a daughter of Jacob W. and Catharine Baker Snyder. Mrs. Ober's ancestors were numbered among the pioneer families of the cove and her father was a zealous worker in the Church of the Brethren, contributing and being one of the chief factors in the erection of the Cross Roads and Snyder churches.

Mrs. Ober was the mother of three children, the late Mrs. L.M. Phillips of Altoona; J.S. Ober of Coutesville, Pa., and Mrs. Homer F. Kagaries of Roaring Spring. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Phyllis and Kathryn Ober and Donald L. Kegaries of Roaring Spring, and two half-brothers, Jacob Snyder, of New Enterprise, and David G. Snyder of Martinsburg.

Mrs. Ober was a faithful member of the Church of the Brethren throughout her life and always attended services until physically unable. She was a woman of sterling character and showed great christian fortitude in the long illness that made her practically bedfast for five years and three months.

The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kegaries. Services will be in charge of Rev. Detwiler, pastor of the Church of the Brethren of Salemville.
