Attorney Leslie J. Valleskey, 70, of 901 N. Eighth St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday afternoon, April 23, at Holy Family Hosptial, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Keith Haag will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Valleskey was born Feb. 27, 1910, at Collins, son of the late Martin G. and Anna H. Schwalbe Valleskey. He was educated at Valders and Manitowoc schools and received his doctorate of law degree from Marquette University in 1933, when he established his law practice in Manitowoc. He married Grace M. Koutnik December, 1906, at Manitowoc. She preceded him in death April 21, 1961. He married Irene Stynski Christiansen July 21, 1962.

Mr. Valeskey served as Lieutenant J.G. in the United States Navy during World War II, was discharged in 1944, and was a member of the Naval Reserves and Reserve Officer's Association. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and served on the church council and building committee. His memberships include American Legion Drews-Bleser Post 88, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Kiwanis Club, YMCA, Manitowoc-Two Rivers Chamber of Commerce, Manitowoc County Historical Society, Manitowoc County Mental Health Association, Downtown Manitowoc Association, Isaac Walton League, Conservation Education Inc., Woodland Dunes Nature Center and Lazy Acres Hunting Club. He was an active outdoorsman and hunter.

Besides his law practice he was owner of Tempcontrold Storage of Manitowoc and the Juneau Transit Company of Juneau.

Survivors include his wife, Irene, two sons, John and George of California; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Pete Gonzales of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Diane M. and Atty. William R. Wick of Manitowoc; two step-sons Bruce Christiansen of Dallas, Texas, and Curt Christiansen of California; a brother and sister-in law, Roy and Peg Valleskey of Lavonia, Mich.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Grace and Vernon Martin of Madison and Myrtle and Guy Ludvigson of Arizona; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lorraine Herold of Manitowoc and three grandchildren (private). A brother,
Russell, preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and at the church from 1 p.m. Saturday until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church or the YMCA.
