Anthony G. Pickett went home to be with the Lord on August 15, 2011 at the age of 47. He passed away with his wife by his side in Austin, Texas. He was the youngest of three children born to Robert D. Pickett and Rena B. Pickett on June 10, 1964, in Picayune, Mississippi. As a small boy Anthony "Tony" loved to spend his childhood and summers at his grandparents "Big Mama" and "Papa" in Morton, Mississippi. He confessed his belief in Christ at an early age in Weems Chapel United Methodist Church in Picayune, MS. He was a member of the (UMYF) United Methodist Youth Fellowship group.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Yolanda D. Pickett and his son, Michael Jamaal Pickett; parents Robert and Rena Pickett of Picayune, MS; sister, Denise of Picayune, MS; sister, Janice Green (Percy) of Baton Rouge, LA; brother, Darius Pickett (Thea) of Baton Rouge, LA; two aunts, Lula Lofton of Morton, MS and Berdie Hamilton (L C) of McComb, MS; two uncles, L C Holloway of Gulfport, MS and Curtis Holloway (Shirley) of Chicago, IL; Goddaughter, Sydney Gilleylen (Cedar Park, TX); Little Brother Terrell Johnson (San Antonio); and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roderick Pickett and his aunt, Laura Pickett.
