Kathryn L. Murphy Ream, 68, of Oakland, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, in Courtland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas, W.Va., following a long battle with Muscular Dystrophy.

Born Jan. 10, 1943, in Piedmont, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Reba (Gerard) Murphy.

Kathryn was a supervisor in Human Resources with the State of Maryland. She graduated from St. Peter's Catholic School in Westernport and was also a graduate of Catherman's Business School in Cumberland.

Surviving is her husband, Harland "Bruce" Ream; a brother, Edward Murphy and wife Maxine, of Keyser, W.Va.; two sisters, Sara Hartman and husband Kenneth, of Westernport, and Carol Moore and husband Bob, of Keyser, W.Va. There are also several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home P.A., 21 N. 2nd St., Oakland, on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. with Father Don Parson officiating.

Interment will be at St. Peters Catholic Cemetery.
