"The death of Charles M. Murdock occurred at his home on Wells Avenue, March 2, from the effect of a shock sustained a few hours previous. Mr. Murdock was a man who was respected by all and had the sympathy of the entire community being a cripple confined to his wheel chair for many years from rheumatism. He was about 63 years old and is survived by three daughters, Miss Gladys Murdock, Mrs. Burton Lathrop and Mrs. Stuart Monroe; one sister Mrs. George Morehouse of Oneonta and one brother Henry Murdock of Wilkensburg, Pa. His wife was Jennie E. Cook who died fifteen years ago and by whose side he was laid to rest in the Hartwick cemetery." ["The Otsego Farmer & Republican" (Cooperstown, NY), March 16, 1923.
