Benjamin William Dankosky Sr., 76, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Halifax Medical Center.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to Florida in 1974 from New York. He owned and operated the Tropical Motel for 27 years prior to his move to Seville. He served his country with the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the 8th Air Force, 2nd Air Division. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart after being shot down in the North Sea. He also received the Air Medal. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Crescent City.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Maureen, and his son, Benjamin Dankosky Jr.
He is survived by his sons, Richard B. Dankosky of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., Michael J. Dankosky of Prattville, Ala. and Russell A. Dankosky of Lake Wales; daughter, Susan Prevatt of Seville; and six grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 15, 2002, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Brian Eburn officiating.
