She was born on June 21, 1949, in California, MO to Chester Keil and Lois (Carpenter) Keil Prenger, both of whom preceded her in death.
Vicki was baptized and a member of First Baptist Church in California, MO.
On November 27, 1966 she was married at First Baptist Church to James R. Murphy, who survives of the home.
She enjoyed western horse riding and barrel racing, softball, bowling, flower gardening and sketching pictures of her friends and family. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her family will miss her homemade chocolate chip cookies.
Vicki is also survived by one son, Pete Murphy, one daughter Patricia Mettle (Rick), all of California, 3 grandchildren, Nicole Murphy, Springfield, James E. Murphy and Alysha Mettle of California; four sisters Marilyn Jobe (David), Columbia, Susan Phillips (Ronald) Jefferson City, Carol Collins, (Wayne) of Jefferson City, Nancy Rohrbach (Glenn) of McGirk; one brother Dale Keil (Anita) of Columbia, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother Donald Keil.
Funeral services were Tuesday, September 2, at Windmill Ridge Funeral Chapel with Rev. Greg Morrow officiating. Interment was at New Hope Cemetery, north of Centertown. Memorials may be made to the New Hope Cemetery Association, c/o Windmill Ridge Funeral Service, PO Box 443, California, MO 65018.
