Bernard Charles Bauer
January 18, 1919 - November 15, 2008

Bernard Charles (Specht) Bauer of Alliance, Nebraska passed away November 15, 2008.

Specht was born in Sargent, Nebraska in 1919 on January 19 to Charles and Maude (Fernbach) Bauer. He later moved with his family to a farm east of Alliance.

Bernard and Eunice (Fry) Bauer were married February 1, 1940 in Bridgeport, Nebraska. They lived on an irrigation farm until March of 1948 when they purchased their ranch 30 miles west of Alliance and resided until 1981 when they moved into their home in Alliance.

Specht loved the outdoors and working hard on his ranch with the love of his life Eunice; he was an avid hunter and fisherman, and had a special place in his heart for his 1930 Harley Davidson. He enjoyed playing a good game of cards with his friends and visiting Prairie Winds.

Specht enjoyed his nieces and nephews and the time he spent time with them: this was the greatest gift he gave them. He will be greatly missed by all who truly loved him. He often said "it ain't how much you make but how you learn to save it".

Specht is survived by his wife Eunice and brothers Clifford and Frankie Lou and; brother-in-law Darwin Jespersen. Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers Ira and Donald Bauer.

Bernard Charles Bauer will be honored with a private service at a later date.
