The Gadsden Times, June 26, 2008: Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel for Sylvia Nell Johnston Kilgore, Whorton Bend, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Burial will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Services directing. Sylvia Nell Johnston Kilgore was born on Oct. 3, 1915. She married N.A. "Bud" Kilgore, and they built the house in Whorton Bend that she lived in for 71 years, until her death. She worked at Dwight Cotton Mill and later for the USDA as an inspector until her retirement. She was a hard-working lady who loved to do for other people. She was a member of the Nazerene Church and was baptized in a creek in 1928. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, N.A. "Bud" Kilgore. She is survived by her family and friends. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Vicente Torregosa. Many thanks to her caregivers and nieces who attributed to her care.
