Mr Oren Clint Carpenter
Services for Oren Clint Carpenter, age 93, were held Sunday, Apr 13, at the
Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Tim Parker and Marvin
Hancock officiating. Interment was in New Mine Cemetery.
Mr Carpenter passed away Friday, Apr 11, at Pittsburg Medical Center after a
short illness. He was born May 31, 1892 in Camp County, and was a resident
of this area all of his life where he was a retired farmer. He had been a member
of the New Mine Baptist Church since 1903, and became an Ordained Deacon
in 1925.
Survivors include one son, Hubert Carpenter of Pittsburg; one daughter, Mrs Marie
Carroll of houston; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren;
one sister, Mrs Mildred Klingholz of Houston; and a number of other relatives and
friends.
Pallbearers were Elwyn Williams, Hubert Cummings, Keith Patterson, Alton Taylor,
Morrell Carpenter and Weldon Hart.
Honorary Pallbearers were Everett Hart, Robbie Hart, Sperry Black and J M Griffith.
