CADILAC - The Rev. Glenn J Rhineberger, 92, of 712 Chestnut St. died at his home Wednesday afternoon. His health had been failing for the past year.
He was born March 3 [sic], 1887 in Ohio. He married the former Viola Rogers Aug 22, 1970 in Cadillac. His wife survives.
He was a veteran of WWI. He had held jobs at the Cadillac Foundry, Penn Central Railroad and Cummer Diggens Lumber Company. He was a member of the Church of God at Burlingame St.
Other survivors include two daughters, Dolly (Mrs. Leslie) Nichols of Oberlin, Ohio and Elizabeth Persinger of Fredrickstown, Ohio; two sons, Glenn H. Rhineberger Jr. of Solway, Minn, and Robert Rhineberger of Clyde, Ohio; two half-sisters; 30 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Emmet County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being made by the Peterson Funeral Home, awaiting arrival of relatives.

-----------------------------------

Two of Glenn's children, his son Elza (3) and his daughter Francis (2), died in a house fire December 6th, 1913. Grandpa was working in the woods cutting and splitting wood. His wife Myrtle brought his lunch out to him. They turned and saw smoke in the direction of the house but it was too late for the children when they got back.

Grandpa planted a pine tree next to their graves there in Bliss Cemetery. He is now buried under that tree, next to two of his children.
