From the probate records received on Margaret father, Jacob M. Jackson Box-H, CF6-85 probate Div, Circuit of Clay Co., Rm 200, Courthouse Liberty, MO 64068. Clay Co., Archives on minor estate of Margaret and older sister Elizabeth Jackson.
This is a gardenship file of Elizabeth and Margaret Jackson, minor children of Jacob M. Jackson and Malinda Mayhugh (or Mayhue). Elizabeth age 7 and Margaret 8's about 7 in year 1857.
Also noted: their guardianship later went to Wesley Mayugh (or Mayhue) brother to Malinda Mayhue,so Wesley would have been knewn as Uncle "Wes" to the girls and lived with his family after the death of Jacob M. Jackson and Malinda Mayhugh (or Mayhue).

31st of May in 1868 married John Easton Morton from Greenup. Kentuckey. They resided on Walker St. in 1860 part of Fort Scott, Bourbon Co., KS. John was wounded in the Civil War as a private. He served 3 years total first in the Company "A" 3rd. COLO. Inf. later transfered to CO. "D" 15th, reg. VET. Reserve CORPS Nov. 28th 1863 but requested a dicharge by 1685. John was sent to the Leavenworth "Old Soliders Hospital due to his War injuries. Were he later died and was buried at the Federal Cemetery, Fort Scott, KS. [See memorial attached]

Margaret remained in Fort Scott, were she received a Widow's Pension from the Goverment.
