Born on Dec. 4, 1972, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Harold and Coleen (Carnes) Bales. He graduated from New Palestine High School in 1992.
Brian had been a press operator at the Daily Reporter in Greenfield. He attended New Palestine Christian Church. An avid fisherman, Brian also loved playing golf and softball.
Surviving him are his parents, Harold and Coleen Bales of New Palestine; and his grandmother, Doxie Carnes of Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at the mortuary. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
