Daniel T. "Tom" Judkins, 80, of Eau Claire died on Wednesday, May 4, 2011.
He was born on February 10, 1931, in Eau Claire, to Manford and Mary (Candell) Judkins.
He grew up in Eau Claire and worked as an auto mechanic. He owned and operated Transmission Specialties on Water Street in Eau Claire for many years until he retired.
Tom enjoyed antique cars, fishing, and having coffee with his friends. Year round he enjoyed feeding the ducks, birds, and geese at Carson Park each morning with his best friend Tim Ducommun. He was a generous man and always willing to help his friends with anything they needed.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janet; daughter, Debra (Tom) Manning; grandchildren, Allison Rice and Adam (Angie) Sommers; a great-grandchild expected in October; and step-granddaughter, Miriel Manning. He was very close to his nephew Jim, whom he talked to daily. Tom is also survived by his faithful dog, Bubba; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Arleen (Bemis); brothers, William, Ira, Jack and Frank; and sister, Margaret.
Funeral Services will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire, with Deacon Larry Agema Officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
