Ruth Madeline Normandeau, 97, Blueberry and Grape Farm Co-owner
Ruth Madeline Normandeau, (nee Miller), 97, of Vermilion, died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Mill Manor Nursing Home, Vermilion.
She was born August 2, 1911 in Brownhelm Township. She was a life long area resident and co-owned a Blueberry and Grape Farm in Vermilion with her husband.
She graduated from Brownhlem High School in the class of 1929. She attended the Vermilion United Church of Christ Congregational, where she was a member of Marmaru. She played cards at the Mildred Early Senior Center, Vermilion, enjoyed square dancing and performed for many organizations. She was a member of the Brownhelm Historical Society.
Survivors include her son, Jerome "Jerry" (Judy) Normandeau of Vermilion; brother, George (Judy) Miller of Amherst; sister, Jane Crook of Sebastian, FL; grandchildren, Cindy (Don) Grote and Tim Normandeau and his companion, Marsha Martin; great grandchildren, Nicole (Steve) Stetz, Brandon (Jessica) Grote and Lisa (Tim) Crow; 5 nieces and 5 nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Earl and Dora (nee Stabbal); husband, Alva L. in 1998; brothers, Clifford Miller and Elmer Miller.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion. The Reverend Louis Bertoni will officiate.
