The funeral of Leola M. Ahrendsen, 64, was held Oct 28 at Hayden Funeral home with Rev. Fred Richardsen officiating. Burial was in Wyoming cemetery.
Mrs. Ahrendsen died Oct 25 at Anamosa Care Center, where she had lived for the past three years. She was born Feb. 10, 1914 near Hale, the daughter of Claude and Sadie Wooder Sweet. At the age of 3, she was adopted by Chris and Katie Paulsen. She attended Hale school.
She was married to Henry Ahrendsen Sept 6 1933. The couple farmed in the Wyoming and Hale areas until moving to Hale in 1939. Mr. Ahrendsen died in 1971.
She is survived by two sons, Richard and Harold of Olin; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Sweet, Olin and Leonard Sweet, Rodeo, Calif.; two half-brothers and three half-sisters.
Her parents, a brother, a sister and a half-brother also preceded her in death.
Pallbearers were Donald France, Dale Wooder, Harold Sweet, Robert Ahrendsen, Merl Aikman and Carl Markmann.
