Cora E. Drompp, 88, of 1025 W. Erie Ave., Lorain, died yesterday in St. Joseph
Hospital following a short illness. Mrs. Drompp was born Feb. 1, 1889, in
Logansport, Ind. and had resided in Sheffield Lake 40 years. She had been a
Lorain resident since 1968. She was a member of First Congregational Church,
Avon Lake Order of Eastern Star 557, was a past president of Brookside PTA and
past president of Sheffield Lake Social Club.
She is survived by a son, Thomas, Sheffield Lake; a daughter, Mrs. Charles
(Alicebell) Gubeno, Venice.Fla., three sisters, Mrs. Grace Inslee, Sheffield
Lake. Mrs. Dollie Bender, Mishawaka, Ind.. Mrs. Maurine Lee, Wisconsin; five
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received by the Schwartz, Spence and Boyer Home for Funerals,
Lorain tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in
the funeral home with the Rev. Dale Kent officiating. Burial will be in Garfield
Cemetery, Sheffield. Memorial contributions if desired may be made to Sheffield
Lake Congregational Church.
