Mrs. Lucy Leavenworth Ballard Van Duyn of 157 Dewitt St. died yesterday at her home. She was the widow of Dr. Edward S. Van Duyn.
Mrs. Van Duyn was a member of May Memorial Unitarian Church and a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Art of New York City. She was one of the founders of the Free Dispensary and had been active in civic affairs. She was born in Syracuse and had lived here all her life.
Mrs. Van Duyn is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John Wilkinson Jr., and Mrs. [Constance] G. Gowing Broad, a son Lt. Col. John Van Duyn and nine grandchildren.
Private services will be conducted at the home at the convenience of the family.
