Born in Polk County, GA, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary White Chambers.
Mr. Chambers was retired from Northern Telecom. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church and the Hejaz Shrine of Mauldin. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. having served during World War II.
Surviving are a daughter, Sarah Chambers of Greenville; a son, Charles M. Chambers of Atlanta; and a grandson, Wyatt J. Williams of Greenville.
Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will be at the residence.
