E. Marjory Linder, 89, of Brookfield, wife of the late Dr. Francis T. Linder, MD, died peacefully surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, August 16th. She was born in Stuart, Iowa, on October 31, 1921, daughter of the late Harold and Beatrice (Miegs) Harmon. Mrs. Linder was a Veteran of World War II, serving stateside with the United States Marine Corps. She was a recipient of the National Defense and Honorable Discharge buttons. She worked alongside her husband as office manager of his orthopedic practice in Bronxville, NY, where the two made their home for many years. She was an avid golfer and most recently member of the Newtown Country Club. Mrs. Linder will be sadly missed by her sons, Francis T. Linder, Jr, of Brookfield, and Robert H. Linder and his wife, Karen of Fairfield; her nine cherished grandchildren, Francis T. III, William, Christopher and Thomas Linder, Kathryn and Laurie Porta, Cody and Spencer Linder, and Max Linder. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary C. Linder; son-in-law, Alfredo C. Porta; her beloved friend, Helen Chappus; as well as many other extended family members who loved her dearly. She was predeceased by her son, Frederick M. Linder II; her daughter, Patricia A. Porta; and her sister, Helen Crivaro. Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Friday, August 19th at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
