Cora Nell Ray Eldridge went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the age of 93. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM on Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Cora was born in True, Texas on April 28, 1918, to Willie Eugene and Kitty Elizabeth (Williams) Ray. She attended Newcastle schools. She married W.B. (Dub) Eldridge on December 19, 1937 in Graham, Texas, and enjoyed 68 years of marriage. They moved to Wichita Falls in 1941 and then to Abilene in 1948. They returned to Graham in 1981. God and her family were always the most important in her life.

Cora was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, friend, sister, and aunt. She gave so much to so many and she will be remembered for her love and caring. She was an avid reader and could converse with anyone on many subjects. The stories she could tell about her life were truly amazing. She is of the generation that endured many hardships that we can never imagine. She was humorous and could make you laugh often.

Survivors include two sons, Benny Eldridge of Graham, Harold Eldridge and wife Brenda of Melissa; two daughters, Amelia Jane Sharp and husband Jerry of Fort Worth and Judy Mason of Weatherford; nine grandchildren, Beverly and John Cassell, Kelly and Glenn Cantu, Paul and Kelli Eldridge, Joe and Dana Eldridge, Tim and Janet Walker, Traci and Rick Sterling, Troy Fabas, Teri Gatchel and Tammy and Keith Yeager; 16 great grandchildren with another due in November and 8 great-great grandchildren and another due in March 2012; and many nieces and nephews and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. B. (Dub) Eldridge in 2006, parents, one brother, Floyd Ray; three sisters, Estle Ray Boozer Harrell, Maxine Ray Cunningham and Virginia Dean Ray Cook; grandson, Robert Tate Walker, and daughter-in-law, Norma Eldridge.

Special thanks to June, Brenda, Kathy, and Mary Jane of Alpha Omega Hospice of Weatherford who provided such kind and loving care during this special journey of life.

I am wondering if you can add two survivors for my mother's transcript. When she died she had two surviving siblings that were left out.
They are Richard Leroy Ray of California and Johnie Ruth (Ray) McLeod of North Carolina.
Both are still living.
