Per his death certificate: He was born in New York. He died November 30, 1903 in New York City. He is the son of John W. Banta and Fannie Danow both born in New Jersey.

Short Bio:
Pioneer cylinder and disc recording artist of the 1890's and early 1900's. Frank P. Banta was a pianist, music arranger and recording artist. He formed Banta's Orchestra in 1893 and was the main studio piano accompanist for many artists such as Dan W. Quinn. He was a longtime Edison staff musician until his death in 1903.
