Paralee Elizabeth Hill was born July 24, 1863 in Huntsville, Texas (Walker County), daughter of Lewis Hill and Sarah J. Vickers.

On December 29, 1880 in Colbert Station, Indian Territory (Chickasaw Nation), Paralee married Augustus A. 'Gus' Palmer, who was born in July 1856 in Blount County, Alabama, son of John William Palmer Sr. and Nancy Germany.

Paralee and Gus ultimately would have six children: George Allen born 1881, daughter born 1885, Lee Hamilton born 1891, Earl A. born 1893, Josie A. born 1896, and Nettie M. born 1900.

The 1930 Federal Census for Township 7, Indian Territory (Choctaw Nation) shows Paralee Palmer, age 36, born July 1863 in Texas; and her husband, August A. Palmer, a farmer, age 45, born July 1854 in Alabama. The census shows that Paralee and Gus had given birth to five children thus far, and only four were still living. Living with them were four children: George A., age 18, born October 1881; Lee H., age 9, born March 1891; Earl A., age 6, born November 1893; and Josie A., age 3, born November 1893; all born in Indian Territory.

Mrs. Elizabeth Palmer died at the family residence Friday night. Funeral services were Sunday at Mhoon Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Highland Cemetery. The deceased was born July 24, 1863 in Huntsville, Texas. Surviving are two sons, two daughters, several grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
