Died in Columbia Dec. 12, Mr. Judd Arthur, aged 28 years.
When the frosts and ripening corn gave notice of approaching Autumn, the "Reaper whose name is Death" came to the home of J. W. Doan and took the only child, Alice. She left a kind Father and mother and a husband to whom she was very dear.
After her death, her husband gave up to grief, saying, "I have nothing to live for." Gradually he grew weaker and though able medical skill was procured, all was in vain, and on Sunday morning he closed his eyes in death.
The funeral services were held on Tuesday at the Baptist church, sermon by Rev. L. Yarnall of Martinsburgh. Rev. Yarnall married the couple, preached the funeral sermon of the wife and today that of the husband.
