Mr. Isaac Lee Smith, 91, of Lenoir, and a former resident of Watauga County, died Friday morning, January 25 in Caldwell Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Smith was born in Watauga County, April 22, 1894, to Joseph and Elizabeth Miller Smith. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Greene Smith, two sons, R.K. and Realey Smith; five brothers, Felix, Odell, Stanley, Henry and Gurney Smith and four ssiters, Mrs. Bessie Eller, Mrs. Ella Greene, Mrs. Sarah Winebarger and Mrs. Pearl Todd.

Mr. Smith is survived by three sons, one brother, one sister, 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted today at 2 p.m. at Stony Fork Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. Officiating were the Reverends Vernon Eller and Buren Hastings. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Miller's Funeral Home in Lenoir was in charge of the arrangements.
