Harry left Muncie on December 16, 1928, en route to Laredo, Texas. He spent time on both sides of the Mexican border before going missing on about January 16, 1929. His body was found in the Rio Grande on February 20. Harry's remains were originally buried in a pauper's grave in Laredo, but was exhumed August 8, 1929, returned to Muncie on August 10, and buried with full Masonic honors on August 11.
