Raymond A. Baumgartner May 27, 1926 - May 27, 2003. Born in Detroit, MI. Met and married his wife, Alicia in Detroit, and entered the Marine Corps. Served in World War II, earning a Purple Heart turning it down 'to save it for the more seriously wounded'. He and his wife moved to Contra Costa in 1949. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Alicia, son, Karl and daughter-in-law, Zenaida of Flagstaff, AZ, granddaughter, Heather of Girdwood, AK, sister, Alice Scholes of Kodiak, AK, brother Edmund of Chagrin Falls, OH and many nephews and nieces. Memorial Mass June 3rd at Christ the King Catholic Church, Pleasant Hill. Inurnment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Lafayette, CA.
