Funeral services were held Saturday, March 4 from a funeral home at 244 East Riverdale for William G Gilpin, 46, of 9 East 137th Riverdale who died in Hazel Crest hospital Wednesday March 1 after a short illness. He had been employed as a carpenter for the Pullman Company for 10 years and lasted worked there December 16, 1949. The Rev... of Our Savior's church, Riverdale officated. Interment was in Oaklawn cemetery, Thorton. Mr. Gilpin was born in Chicago June 29, 1903 and had lived in Riverdale for six and one half years. He was married to Emma Bellemonte on November 1, 1932. Surviving, besides his widow Emma; are his mother, Mrs. Agnes Gilpin; two children by a former marriage Mildred and William of Chicago, two sisters, Mrs. Joan Gorham and Maizie Gilpin, of Chicago and three brothers, Osborn, of Oaklawn, Earl of DeMotte, Ind and Chester of Glendale, Calif.

Cemetery notes and/or description: The cemetery was excluded from inclusion in any town, just Cook county. It is closer to Homewood (it is on this side of the quarry). Oak Lawn Cemetery in Thornton, Cook, IL, is now known as Homewood Memorial Gard
