He and Fern Jane Colton were married July 8th, 1936 and the parents of 3 sons.
They lived at the family farm until moving to Vinita in 1980.
Tige was a member of the Craig County baseball team of 1948. He worked for the county for many years operating the road maintainer and also was involved in the building of the Will Rogers turnpike. He later started working at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita where he retired. At the same time that he had a paying job, he and Fern also planted and harvested crops and at different times throughout their lives raised sheep, turkeys and cattle.
