Funeral services for John C. Benedict, 67, who died Tuesday at his home in Jacksonville, Florida, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Myers funeral home.

The body arrived in Ionia Friday morning from Jacksonville. Rev. F. G. Dunbar will officiate and burial will be in Balcom Cemetery.

John C. Benedict was born in Orange township and was the son of Emerson and Sara Benedict. He was born in the brick house across from the Benedict school house and had lived here for many years before moving to Florida.

Mr. Benedict was employed as a machinist in Lansing and he had also worked in North Carolina before going to Florida.

Surviving is a son, Max, who lives in Florida; a sister, Mrs. Ida Gunthers of Grand Rapids; a brother, Fred Benedict, of Big Rapids. Another son, Donald, died over twelve years ago.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Myers funeral home for John Benedict, 67, of Jacksonville, Florida. Rev. F. G. Dunbar, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiated and burial was in Balcom Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Albert Hinds, Elmer Benedict, Lester Wolverton, Glenn Sprague, Ross Benedict, and Floyd Benedict.

Attending services from away were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Benedict of Big Rapids and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Lawrence and family and Dr. and Mrs. James Symons of Grand Rapids.
