Richard Ball, 73, of Ackley, Iowa, and formerly of Iowa Falls, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2008, due to injuries received in an automobile accident in Franklin County, Iowa. Funeral services for Richard Ball will be 10:00 am Saturday, September 27th at the Linn's Funeral Chapel, Iowa Falls Chapel. The Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Richard Earl Ball was born March 10, 1935, at Greenfield, Indiana, the son of Pearl Lauvion [Huckleberry] and Ralph Cecil Ball. He attended Greenfield, Indiana Community Schools. On July 13, 1993, he was united in marriage to Colinda Fae Warner at Eldora, Iowa. They were later divorced. Richard had worked for North American Van Lines, Berry Plastics and the Eldora Training School. He served 21 years with the Indiana and Iowa Army National Guard.

Richard Ball is survived by his children: Patricia, Darla, Mike, Earnie, Cathy, Becky, Steven, Thomas, and Timothy; several grandchildren; and siblings: Marilyn, Norman, Larry, Gary, and David. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Dorothy; and one brother: Ralph 'Dale'
