Funeral of Mrs. Lewis Wilson Held Here.
The remains of Mrs. Lewis N. Wilson, whose death occurred at her home in LaGrange Jan. 22, were brought to LaFayette last Thursday and the funeral services were held at the LaFayette Baptist Church at 1:30 o'clock. Rev. W. D. Hubbard, the pastor, conducted the services, assisted by Dr. W. C. Bledsoe, who made a short talk, paying tender tribute to the memory of the deceased whom he had known all her life. A number of friends came over with the funeral party from LaGrange, accompanying the bereaved husband. Mrs. Bettie Marable, the mother, could not come on account of serious illness. Floral offerings from LaFayette and LaGrange friends were beautiful. The pall bearers were Messrs. H.V., J. O. and O. E. Wilson, brothers of Mr. Lewis Wilson and Messrs. C. W. and Davis Griffin, uncles of the deceased. Interment was in the city cemetery.
Born and reared in LaFayette and living here until recently. Mrs. Wilson was much beloved by many relatives and friends who are deeply grieved by her death.
Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the funeral were Messrs. J. O. Wilson, Rheubin Pharr, Williams, Chas. Dix, A. P. Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Olin Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Wilson, Mrs. Cook, Miss Lizzie Cook, Mr. Swint, Mrs. Swint, Mr. Segrest, Mr. Gladney, of LaGrange; Mrs. Julius Love and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Hollingsworth, of Opelika.
