A son of Max and Regina (Weintraut) Beyer, he was born Jan. 15, 1918 in Waldron.
His wife, Crystal Henderson, whom he married Feb. 28, 1943, survives.
Mr. Beyer was a farmer, and he also retired from Knauf Fiber Glass, Shelbyville, in 1980 after 14 years of employment.
A veteran of the U. S. Army in World War II, he was a lifetime Shelby County resident, having lived in Waldron, St. Paul and Shelbyville.
He was a member of the St. Vincent Catholic Church, the Eagles Lodge and the American Legion, each of Shelbyville.
Survivors include two sons, Donald R. Beyer, Columbus, and Fred Beyer, St. Paul; three daughters, Dorothy Vanosdol, Shelbyville, Virginia M. Beyer, Shelbyville, and Linda M. Mohr, Fountaintown; two sisters, Anna Hatton, Flat Rock, and Leona Beyer, Salem; and six grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a son, a sister and a brother.
Services will be held at 10 a. m. Friday at the St. Vincent Catholic Church. Friends may call at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p. m. Thursday, with Rosary at 7:30 p. m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the St. Vincent Cemetery. (Obit: The Shelbyville News, Aug. 3, 1988)
