She had been ill 2 1/2 years and was spending the winter with her daughter, Mrs. Robert (Florence) Gough, in Evansville.
Mrs. Roell was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Anne's Altar Society, Ladies Auxdiary of Knights of St. John, Addison Township Extension Homemakers Club and a former member of the Thompson Community Club.
Born in Shelby Township Jan. 25, 1889, Mrs. Roell was the daughter of Frank and Flora (Worland) Zobel. She was married Sept. 20, 1910 to Anthony X. Roell and he died Dec. 27, 1918.
Survivors with the daughter in Evansville are one son, Louis A. Roell, R. R. 6, Shelbyville, one sister, Mrs. Ethel Thibo, R. R. 1, Waldron; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and three step-grandchildren.
A sister, Mrs. Carl (Lora) Roell preceded in death.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in St. Vincent Cemetery. Rev. James Arneson will officiate. Friends may call at the Carmony Funeral Home here after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday. The Rosary will be recited there at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. (Obit: The Shelbyville News, Dec. 30, 1968)
