James "Bunk" Moffett

Maxie, MS

Mr. James "Bunk" Moffett, born on March 6, 1931 of Maxie, Ms, died on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the age of 80. He was retired from the Forrest Service after 33 1/2 of employment. Bunk was a faithful member and deacon at Black Creek Baptist Church in Brooklyn, Ms. He also worked as a contract laborer for LaVert Jones and a long time farmer.

Bunk was preceded in death by his parents Nevils and Cornelia Moffett, one brother John A. Moffett, and numerous half brothers and sisters.

Bunk is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bobbie Moffett of Maxie; three sons Richard (Brenda) Moffett of Carnes, Joseph (Cindy) Moffett of Columbia, and Allen (Anita) Moffett of Maxie, one brother, Warner C. Moffett of Oloh, Ms and one sister, Eleanor Cambell of Yazoo City,MS. He was PaPa to nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:00AM Wednesday August 17, 2011 at Black Creek Baptist Church in Brooklyn. Visitation will be from 6:00PM until Tuesday August 16, 2011 at the church.

Interment will be in Simmons Cemetery in Rock Hill Community.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for monetary donations to his wife.
