Fred Fischer, 77, widely known Shelby county farmer, died suddenly Saturday at 11:00 p.m. at his home near Waldron. Death was attributed by County Coroner Dr. James Tower to a coronary attack.
Born in Liberty township, January 12, 1882, Mr. Fischer was the son of Henry and Mary Katherine Fischer. He is survived by the widow, Marie Cecelia (Higgins) Fischer, to whom he was married April 24, 1912, and three children, Henry T. Fischer and Mrs. Rita Ann Thibo of Liberty township and Mrs. Rosemary Lindley of Frankfort. There are seven grandchildren and also surviving is a brother, John H. Fischer of Liberty township.
Mr. Fischer was a member of the St. Vincent Catholic Church and last rites will be held at the church Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. Rev. A. H. Seger will officiate and burial, in charge of the Murphy Mortuary, will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 7:00 this evening. The Rosary will be said at the mortuary Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. (Obit: The Shelbyville News, Sep. 27, 1959)
