Theodore Waak, 81, retired town of Newton farmer who made his home with two daughters here at 1629 South 13th street for the past 14 years, died early Sunday morning at the home after a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home and at 2 o'clock from the First German Evangelical Lutheran church, with the Rev. Edward Kionka of St. Paul's Lutheran church at Newton officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery in the town of Newton.

Mr. Waak was born in the town of Newton Jan. 29, 1861 and farmed there until he retired 14 years ago and moved to this city. He married Miss Fredericka Ruchhoeft in Manitowoc on April 2, 1886. She died in 1914.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Herman Kreie, Mrs. Harvey Phalen and Misses Alma and Lillian Waak, all of this city; five sons, Albert, William and Emil, city,Henry of the town of Newton and Elmer of Los Angeles, Cal.; one sister, Mrs. George Falkenhagen, Antigo; eighteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was a charter member of St. Paul's Lutheran congregation at Newton.

The body may be viewed at the funeral home from 7 p.m. today until the time of the funeral. Word was received from a son, Elmer in California this afternoon that he is coming for the rites and if he cannot get here by Wednesday afternoon the services (sic) they may be postponed. Definite announcement will be made later.

Services will be held from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home at 2:30 o'coock Thursday afternoon and at 3 o'clock from the First German Evangelical Lutheran church with the Rev. Edward Kionka of Newton officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery in the town of Newton.
